How to Fill a Shoebox with Love
  1. Find a shoebox & cover it with paper, fabric or wrapping paper.  Wrap the cover separately so it can be placed on/off.
     
  2. Decorate the box in any way – be creative, have FUN!
     
  3. Decide who will receive this box & label using the Love in a Box brochure.  The categories are:

                Boys   or  
    Girls
    ages  2 to 4  -   5 to 8  -   9 to 11

 

  1. Fill box with some small new items such as:
  • Pens, pencils, crayons, art supplies
  • Small ball or game
  • Playing cards or a book
  • Stickers or a picture book
  • A cuddly toy, a jigsaw puzzle
  • Hair accessories for girls
  • A small picture frame
  • A toothbrush
  •  . . . other trinkets your receiving child might like
  1. Include a note or a drawing and photo of yourself and your family
Optional:  A stamped envelope or notecard addressed to your first name, grade and school, in case the recipient would like to write back.

Some items are not appropriate for Love In a Box.  These include:

Any edible items
War related items, such as guns or toy soldiers
Clothing other than those mentioned above
Glass or fragile items
Liquids of any type
Toys which depend on batteries
Marbles or sharp objects
Anything of a political, racial or religious nature
Medicine

Please do not individually wrap gifts or overfill the box.

  1. Make sure your completed label is secured on the lid

  2. Put the lid on and secure it with a rubber band

  3. Bring it to the collection point at your school
